Marriage ceremonies are performed in the Registry marriage rooms between the hours of 9:30am to 12pm and 2pm to 3:30pm Monday to Friday.
A ceremony can be arranged by making an appointment to lodge the completed Notice of Intended Marriage form at this office and payment of a fee. You can book an appointment by contacting a marriage enquiry officer by phone on (08) 9264 6112 between 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
Please download the Notice of Intended Marriage for completion before attending your appointment. At this appointment, the marriage enquiry officer will check the information, sight your original documents and make arrangements for the date and time of the ceremony.
If you post the Notice of Intended Marriage form, you will need to arrange for your signatures to be witnessed by a qualified person (as stated on the Notice form). You will also need to have your original birth certificates and other documents of identification certified as true copies. The original documents will need to be sighted at the Registry before your ceremony.
Please also include contact phone numbers or an email address, payment and two preferred dates of marriage. Please note your Notice of Intended Marriage will not be accepted if the signatures have not been witnessed by correctly qualified persons and the fees paid.
On the day of the ceremony, the Registry celebrant will perform the legal requirements for marriage in Australia. The bride and groom need to arrange for two adults, (at least 18 years of age) to be present to witness their marriage. Other friends and family members are more than welcome. Our wedding rooms can accommodate between 20 to 35 guests.
Your wedding is a very special event and it is suggested that all attending the ceremony dress accordingly. You may decorate the wedding room with a flower arrangement or simply carry a bouquet or posy.
Soft music is played during the ceremony and you are welcome to bring your own CD, iPod or USB. It is essential that the wedding party and guests arrive at least ten minutes before the appointed time of your ceremony.
Customer Alert: The Perth Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is not affiliated to the Perth Marriage Office which is operated by a private marriage celebrant.
